Thanks, Gary and Mark for the pics and ideas.
Steve,
That is a very cool design. I didn't spot the drop leaf on the other side in your original post. Love the radiused edges.
I think I'm going to try and make something that looks like the original table. Very retro, perhaps with a cracked ice lemon color formica top.

The sliding wood bits are still available, the same manufacturer makes the slides for the gaucho.
Try this place, or do a search on Walter of Wabash

67 Tradewnd
My 67 Tradewind has a big heavy one that is mounted under the front window.Due to where the freshwater tank is located it doesn't even fully fold down. I think it has the potential to pull on the front too much. Does anyone ever just removethe mounting hardware and go with one of these freestanding tables?

What a great thread! Heck they all look good. I might just have to go with the Sam's Club.

Hey everybody! Look what I got! I scored on one of these classic drop leaf tables. This particular table came from a 1960. The guy I bought it from had sold his Airstream years ago but forgot about the table which was stored in his garage. This was good fortune for me. I've been looking for a table since June and found this beauty just a few hours south in Oro Valley, AZ. Got it for a great price, too! The table looks great and is constructed much better than what I expected. I didn't expect solid wood and aluminum edge banding. The only thing that needs restoring are the wooden slides which keep the drop leafs extended.

We do have a table out of a 1964. Sort of 'putty' colored.

If anyone knows where another one of these beautiful tables resides, I would love to know. Our 63 Overlander has no interior table for eating, and we would really like to stop standing at the counter while eating. Would be nice to have a place to play games as well. Just look at this space...it's just craving a little table to make it feel whole. While I know there are other "new" models out there, we really would like to stay Airstream period appropriate on this.
Thank in advance ya'll!

I have a drop leaf table from our Vintage 1961 Airstream Tradewind. The surface tops are formica, white with gold flecks. It is Very heavy, the legs pull out underneath on each side which in turn raises the leaves on each side independently. We are in Calif. Frank

Here's what my table looked like. I gave all the hardware to goransons, the table top was garbage. You might want to PM him and see if he still has it. The legs were filled with lead(?) and there was a screen door spring that went from the bottom of the table to the very edge of the floor. I suppose to keep it in place while traveling. Never had any of the chairs.

I know this is an old thread, but are these Gaudette tables hard to come by?
Thanks.
