Is this an original couch(es) layout??
Looking to buy this airstream, our first!, but want to know if this is an original config for a 69 sovereign - two couches up front in "L" shape....? One is a slider bed, the other not a slider?
Needs work of course, but don't want to start with someone's "custom" job, only want if it is an original layout.....will restore fully someday.....just haven't seen this config before....
Thanks!!!

1969 31' Sovereign floor plans
Hi JC:
If the 1969 Sovereign is a twin bed model, then the two front "L" shaped sofas are original, as seen in the floor plans below. If it is a double bed model, which had less sleeping and more storage space, then the "L" sofas are not original and someone has removed the front street side credenza and replaced it with a gaucho (pull-out sofa). Hope this helps.

The 'L' is a desirable model, you will find that it can be very accomodating. Good luck with your purchase. Make sure you check other threads here to see what to be aware of when buying. Buyers remorse is possible if you don't know what you are getting into.

Interesting......
I wonder if they moved the gouchu from under the front window to the side, then built the little couch and installed the table holder next to the door....
Unfortunately the current owner doesn't know any of the history....maybe I would use the chance to build a custom dinette or something unique...
Side question - where is a good place on the forums to post photos and ask "Is this "worth" $6000"?
(The rest of it looks pretty good and stock)
Thanks!!

I love the "L" cause I'm 6'2" and the "L" couch offers a longer bed. I believe, the "L" couch was an option on the international (best) package. I can't remember if any part of the VIN number tells you about the couch. You may want to search the forum for that.

Start a new thread "Is it worth $6000?", post your pictures (as many as you want/have) in the thread and you'll get a response. Location-wise, try the '69 Sovereign forum...
Another idea is to utilize the members "Volunteer Inspector" services.

At $6000 this should be a trailer that is used regularly and has some things that don't work. At that price, the floor could have some areas of soft floor around the door or around the toilet, but not significant. The trailer should not have leaks.
Always remember that when buying a vintage trailer, you are buying one because you expect to work on the trailer and you understand that the same trailer new off of the lot would cost you $50,000 (for your sized trailer) more. That gives you a lot of spending room for repairs.
I agree with InsideOut's suggestions.
