Interesting Issue with 2015 Serenity 30'

Here is something that I have not seen discussed here on the forums before. We have a 2015 Serenity 30' which we absolutely love. It is the most perfect trailer for us. However there is an interesting issue developing in the bathroom.

There is a strip of decorative aluminum that is used as a baseboard around the cabinet. As the temperatures rise in Mesa, AZ (a high of 80+ today and heading for 90 in the ensuing week), this strip expands and pulls away from the cabinetry, leaving a gap from the wall. I suppose this is due to the expansion (and subsequent) contraction of the metal due to heat. Since it is screwed to the cabinet in a couple of places it has no where to go except out.

The fix as I see it is to take the plate off and elongate the screw holes thus allowing the plate to expand and slide.

Anyone else experienced this?

Yes, our FC 25 RB shares the exact same bath room as your Serenity 30, different decor. The metal plate also expands and contracts. Have not thought of a fix but I like your idea.

We have added a mirror to supplement the small one by moving the towel loop to the side. And unscrewed the door hinge, turned the door upside down to mount it upside down on the opposite side so it provides more bath privacy towards the living room and better access from the bedroom.

Consider adding a few more evenly spaced screws to the strip. I have a trim strip on my bath door frame that behaves in a similar manner. The screws are just too far apart.

Slots will not really help much.

Try to find similar screws so it looks nice.
