Last week one of the euro hinges came apart, yes even with the plastic stopper. Seems the two tiny screws inside both worked loose. So it was a simple matter of reassembling it.

I found the chrome 'cover plate' on the floor. I can't see what holds it on. Maybe it broke. I can reattach it with double sided tape, but maybe some wise experienced fixer can tell me how it snaps back on?
It's cosmetic, just covering the guts of the hinge, but I'll reattach it somehow.

There are two retaining tabs protruding from the back side of the cover plate…these tabs just snap into mating recesses in the hinge body. It is unidirectional, so pay attention.

I seem to recall a previous thread on the matter, since it has happened to us in the past. The OP suggested sneaking a small zip tie through the back of the hinge assembly to hold the cover plate on. We've done this and it seems to be holding. I guess double stick tape would be another solution though.
