Dressing Mirror

My wife wants to have a mirror on the outside of the bathroom door. I am hesitant to put in a glass mirror and definitely do not like those little transparent mirror clips that are used in homes. Anyone have any experience with a steel or acrylic mirror, preferably one with through-hole mounting?

Our real glass mirror is mounted on the closet door in a wood frame with simple plastic clips. It's lasted all these years, so I suspect you could install a sturdy framed 3/4 length mirror on any firm surface and it would ride fine. What are your concerns?

Concerned about broken glass mostly. Those clips just don't look real sturdy to me. I like the idea of a strong frame though.

Just keep it Polished real shiny.

Mount it with double-stick tape (the foam kind - also sometimes called "mirror mounting tape") and use the clips or something similar just as backup. We have had a 3/4 length glass mirror so mounted on the closet door in our 19' Bambi for years.

Ah, Tim, reinforced mounting! Great idea. Reminds me that the three small mirrors on the Dinette wall are actually held in place with big strips of 2-inch industrial Velcro. They used to move back and forth in their track, so I stuck them in place. Solid as a rock now. So, leedav, go for it.
