Dinette Table Conversion

Seeking advice on this - has anyone converted their dinette table from something that is attached to their camper (like mine is in the Flying Cloud) to one that is removable? What I'm looking to do is maintain the functionality of having a dinette table that is also a main support for the convertible front/dinette bed. BUT, I'd also like to be able to remove that table to use outdoors. I actually saw this in practice on my neighbors SOB white box - not impressed with the box but the removable table really intrigue me as it was a great space saving idea. Their table works as a dinette table, lowers to make an extra bed AND can be removed from the camper and used outdoors! Any ideas, suggestions, wisdom or actual pictures of modifications would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for your guidance, G.

Well, it's about 98% sure that whatever company made your neighbor's RV just bought the mechanism from some (maybe wholesale) hardware vendor. Any chance he'd let you take a peek under his table with a flashlight and a camera?

Hard to believe no one else has considered this conversion; my thinking was to have a table that could do double duty and save precious space. I took another look at my neighbors set-up and his table seems to 'click' into place when traveling. I'll try and fashion at least 2 extra legs and keep the leading edge connectors so that the table can still travel securely and function in the 'up' position. The challenge will be to fashion a pair of legs that can connect or drop down when I want to use the dinette table as a stand-alone table outside. Will start planning and post pictures as I figure this out.

Attach the same bracket on the outside of your trailer that the table "clicks" into in the interior. Then you need only an adjustable leg for use outside. The trailer-to-ground distance varies every time you park it.
That is the method I use on both my Airstream Safari and my Boles Aero with the use of a short, adjustable painter's pole for a leg.

Thanks SamB, I never considered actually attaching the table to the camper - that now gives me another option; not sure how I feel about punching holes into the camper though. As mentioned earlier, I'll experiment and post pictures when complete.
