Dinette mod ideas

So, like so many, I don't like the dinette in my 23 FB Signature, a 2013.

Searching the net and drawing I came up with this idea. I want to mockup in cardboard first, even before removing the benches and table.

Many add seating that faces away from the windows, which to me is just wrong and I also wanted a desk. If properly sized, it could be desk, bed, seating and even a bunkbed with additional stucture (boards).

I have to go find some large cardboard and give it a try. The only pic I have at the moment is the one from Foley. This is my trailer. Interior is called Yellowstone. All the dinette would be removed. Notice the huge box under the dinette hiding trailer stuff which makes it hard to sit more than 2 people and the top is way bigger than needed.

Comments suggestions... a better way... thanks in advance!

WW - It is not something we see as value. We sit at the dinette to prep meals, eat, plan, observe what is happening outside, sew, play cards, and dry the dishes. We like the layout.

My brother chose a couch that makes into a bed and uses a portable table. It's a different approach to how the RV is used. Folks who do not like the dinette need to change their 23fb layout, trade for a different coach, or yield to compromise. There are several mods that have been posted. Your sketch looks like it will be a very workable change.

Negatives - the space under the dinette seats is valuable. Low to the floor over the axle storage should not be compromised. We travel with items between the seats. - the inward orientation makes viewing through the windows a twisting action. - you may find the overhead cabinets to be a head knocker, maybe.

Positives - the inward orientation makes TV viewing more comfortable. - it will open up the aisle space if a table is not used. - the shelving at the door will be useful. - it's your idea. Hard to get better than that.

Make it your own. We want to see the WW smile down the road. Pat

Hi

All of this is very much a "what works for you" sort of thing. In the far distant past when we bought our current AS, the idea of modifying anything seemed like insanity. A year later I've ripped this and that out and "upgraded" various bits and pieces. Does this add resale value? I very much doubt it. It does make the RV more usable for *us*. Do what makes sense for your usage !!!

Beginning to explore the inside of my 2019 Airstream Flying Cloud. Would like to store the front table and pole. Got the table off the pole but cannot figure how to get pole released from floor socket. I see a small black button of the side of the floor mount and it appears to press down slightly, but still cannot get pole to release. Help please.
Thanks,
Pubtym

Once the button has been depressed the poles should unscrew out of the floor!
