Counter

Was looking to replace my counter top with a granite or a quartz but was warned off by another owner saying that it would most likely crack due to vibrations. Wanted to ask here and see if that was in fact valid. Also was considering doing something custom from ikea or maybe creating a stainless counter top but wanted to see if any others have done something similar. Thanks for all the input in advance!

Chris,

I'd stay away from granite slab and tile. Vibration and cracking could be an issue in addition to weight, about 14 pounds per sq. ft..

We had a custom stainless steel counter top fabricated with a integral sink. It gave us a deeper, more usable sink and used less counter space.

SS will scratch.

If you search my posts, there should be pics of the counter and sink.
