Does anyone know what the clear tube inside the cabinet on the street side of a 1975 31' Romany is for? I can't figure it out. It is about 3/8 to 1/2 inch in diameter.
That's what she said! It goes into the cabinet a few inches, almost to the tambour door and then goes into the street side behind the cabinet so I don't know where it goes from there. It is not near anything to be a vent tube, thought maybe it was conduit for running something into the front cabinets. I'll take a picture when I am near the trailer in storage.
This is a guess of course, but in that vintage Airstream, they sometimes had a mechanical exterior thermometer, that is one with a long metal tube going between the exterior bulb which sensed the temperature and the interior dial system. As I recall, the thermometer tube was snaked down to the outside in a vinyl tube put into the wall when the trailer was built. So, I think it might be that tube you are seeing, with the interior thermometer long gone.
