cabinets from box stores?
i am redoing the layout of my '64 globetrotter. front gaucho is gone, so too the toilet, tub and sink. i am moving the side bed/seat to the rear quarter on the passenger side, a composting toilet to rear quarter driver side, long counter with sink and stovetop midsection driver side. frig remains in place.
i see 2 options:
purchase pre-fabricated cabinets (ikea, lowes, etc) and a long counter top, and make the modifications for sink and stove top. i've read a number of negative reviews regarding the materials used in these cabinets, and question if they would be road worthy from the pounding resulting from potholes, etc. are there manufactures/models that are designed and made better? or, should i replace the thin particle board pieces that are the places of attachment to the wall and floor?
other option is to begin looking for an amish cabinet maker. this option would take much more time. and this old gal is rearin' to go!
i sincerely thank you for your thoughts and time taken.
happiest of new to you!
