Cabinets fell

Just in case anyone was wondering what a cabinet falling while traveling looks like. I know it’s been discussed on here but 6 screws and some rivets seems a little lax on attaching the cabinet. We didn’t even have anything in it. The trailers only two years old and we only drive in the highway. Glad I have a pop up camper so at least I have something to camp in while I wait on this to get fixed.

Ouch! We’re the rivets and screws only in the skin and not the ribs?

Wow that is just maddening. My bathroom vanity was completely loose on our new 2022 25’ RBT. The brackets are not close enough to the wall for the short screws to attach to any thing. At least 3 out of the five were not in the ribs. The bracket in the front corner attached to the wall had just pulled a chunk of the wall out. The only thing holding mine in was the plumbing. Airstream said they would pay for labor to have a mobile service fix it but not any minimums, trip charge or mileage. I made some spacers out of 3/16” aluminum and used longer screws making sure they went into the ribs.

I am constantly fixing screws that have pulled out of the catches and hinges.

The picture is no longer available. Why not just upload it in this forum where it will be available to everyone that read your post?

Just the inner skin from what I can tell, the two main rivets broke. There is a metal strip that is the attachment point for the bottom of the cabinet and it remained on the wall. The attachment at the back closet remained on the wall with all the screws stripping out.

Finally, I see why that wad of wiring is useful. It's a service loop for when the cabinet falls! ;-)
