Attn: 1966 Owners (Interior Furniture)
Heads up all you '66 owners (and owners of other proximate-year vintage Airstreams as well).
I am having every piece of interior cabinetry in my '66 International '28 (twin center beds) trailer reconstructed from new materials.
An architect has removed all the cabinets and countertops and has registered them in CAD software -- which is being sent to an engineer/woodworker with a CNC machine who'll fabricate all the panels and parts to re-create the cabinets down to the millimeter.
Yes, this is expensive. So to help offset my investment, if you've got the need for new interior furniture, it wouldn't be difficult to have the engineer cut an extra set of parts and ship them to you (where you would assemble, stain and install the cabinet).
If you're interested, drop me a line. I haven't figured out prices yet... and you should be prepared to wait several months, as this is the very beginning of our rehab project and delivered cabinets are still a ways away.
For what it's worth -- my intention is to restore the trailer to original condition, except we're using blonde maple or birch surfaces to brighten up the interior, and matching the new sheet flooring we'll install! Should be a real looker.
