Aluminum tambour
I want to replace my old tambour with new aluminum or aluminum-look tambour. I have read older posts and watched the YouTube video about replacing tambour. I am getting confused because when I check the recommended websites to order an aluminum tambour sheet, it seems that all of the metallic tambour is listed as "decorative". Most sites specify that the metal tambour is to be used as wall covering or as a decorative accent and cannot be used in cabinets. I sure don't want to buy the wrong thing. Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

I removed our tambour doors and sprayed them with a metallic spray, and I think they turned out real well. I can dig up the type of spray it was... I think it had actual metallic specks because the finished result doesn't look flat.

These guys make tambours. Maybe they'd just make what you want for you if they don't stock it.
Winona Manufacturing, Inc.

Aluminum Tambour
Just make sure you get the "right" stuff. Though I don't know what the right stuff is??? I looked at a trailer recently that the PO had replaced all doors with the aluminum looking tambour, but it was either too thick or something, but not a single one of them opened and closed correctly, some not at all. Maybe someone will reply with a particular brand or source. Maybe get a small supply and try a couple of doors first??

Thanks for the ideas
Thanks for all of the advice. I had already checked out Winona - these are the folks everybody recommends but listed their aluminum products as decorative. I think this is the brand used on the DIY show so I'm not sure what to do there. I am going to check out all of your other suggestions and will let you all know what happens! Thanks a lot!

Winona lists aluminum tambour doors. They show doors on the web page. Doors would have cloth back. Decorative only would have paper back. I've bought from them in the past. National and Outwater as well.
They may only sell to a dealer. Just call them, ask all the questions and ask them how to buy.

And they might send samples if asked.
The Sioux River is raging right now. There's still a LOT of snow north of us. I live on the highest hill in the county. It'll take a Noah's flood to flood my place.
