Hi Ed, Is there a specific year or style folding table you're looking for? You might try posting a add on Main Index - Airstream Trailer & Airstream Motorhome Classifieds. It's free.

I have the one from mine complete except for the rail that mounts to the wall. I'm sure you could buy that part new.

Folding Table

For which trailer are you looking to put it in? I don't know if all the folding tables in Airstreams were identical. Some are on the door side like mine and some of the curb side. I've currently taken mine out and apart to cut it down some as the size is a little big and heavy for the Tradewind. We've going to take about 6" off the width and then cover it with new formica that will match the counter tops. If you need photos to build one I can send. VTS has the table parts, leg etc. to make one.

I am guessing that you are probably looking for a drop-leaf style table for your recently acquired Flying Cloud. While not original Airstream tables, the following are sized somewhat comparably:

Timeless Elements Drop-Leaf Table
Heywood Wakefield Drop-Leaf Utility Table
1950s Vintage Pink Drop-Leaf Table

These aren't exactly the same, but my be somewhat in the same design realm.

Photos of what you are doing would be great! I am not much of a wood worker but I have said with this trailer I'm going to give it another shot! All I keep seeing is Doc Sevits my shop teacher in high school telling to move away from the table saw...........

This is for the 54 FC

Table Top Surface

Will post some photos this week. Yes my wood shop teacher was similar, 8th grade, there was a 10" long wood splinter stuck in the ceiling above the table saw that he left there as a reminder for all of us to wear our safety goggles.

I've taken my table apart, about 8 screws and separated the metal frame from the wood. It's very heavy and difficult to set up. So that's where I plan to cut it down about 6" in width. When fully set up it's a little large for the space. I've bought formica for the surface that matches the new counter tops we put in. I've slowly reworked all of the old woodgrain plastic with wood veneers to this should finish up this phase of remodeling

have table, will travel

I have taken the original folding table out of our '74 Ambassador. It's vinyl edge band needs to be replaced, and it may be too big for your Fying Cloud. Please let me know if you want me to post the dimensions and a picture.

Here are a few early sixties styles. Free standing folding type that stores away in the closet when not needed.
One is Uwe's...borrowed from another thread. My table has the plastic edging replaced with aluminium. and repainted.

Table Top Surface

I am in the process of buying 1" edgebanding for my table top, hopefully from Ace hardware, will let you know model and type if you need some, I may even wind up with a lot of extra as I was told I have to buy 6 12' sections.

table pics

The table from the Ambassador measures 36" by 25". There are two table top pieces (only one is shown in the side view below, I took the second one off to make it easier to handle) so it folds out to a 36" by 50" surface. I used the two Soss hinges that connected the two table top pieces when I built the replacement table. Replacement hinges are a standard size and can be easily purchased.

There is a continuous piano hinge along the 36" side, which attached to a 1x2 wood batten which was attached to the trailer wall. All laminate surfaces are the imitation walnut as shown in the pictures. The table base slides out aways to support the second 25" wide leaf when it's folded out.

This table is available for the cost of shipping, or could be handed off at a rally or convenient meeting place.

table parts

The old table pictured below just got too cumbersome to move around, so it's on it's way out. If some wants parts, please let me know. I have enclosed some pictures of the leg bracket per another request.

Table

Maccamper.
Do you still have the table?
I have a 1973 Ambassador that I'd thought I'd sold but after four years I have it back. Unfortunately the table is gone. Long story, but I'm in need of a table for it. The one that used to be in it was on the street side and it folded down plus you could slide it closer to the sofa
thanks

I've got one. The finish is walnut with gray accents.

I am sorry, Gillguy, I did not get any inquiries on the table, so the table tops went in the trash. I kept the aluminum frame for the recycle place, and it is still in the garage. You would have to make a new table top or find one somewhere.

On our Ambassador, all the laminate was fake walnut, and all the aluminum up front was copper anodized. I have taken out all the fake walnut inserts from the frame and edge trim. The table has no slides that allow it to move closer to the couch, that must have been something they did in '73.

The easiest thing might be to take up Mello Mike on his offer.
