Adjusting RV style latches

It only took about 10 hours of use before the single latch holding the closet shut in our Bambi 22F be broke. The plastic snapped clean off the “male” end.

Fortunately I was able to find what appeared to be exact replacements on Amazon for suspiciously cheap.

What I have not been able to find however is any kind of guide for installing and or adjusting them. I am not a complete doofus, and after a solid 30 minutes of cursing and frustration, I am no closer to when I started. Is there some kind of trick to adjusting these latches?Attachment 1Attachment 1

They come in different strengths, I need 10# to keep the cabinet closed.
Supposedly, the spring is blue for 10# but I couldn't tell.
There is no adjustment. Just replace using the existing screws and you're done.

Hmm. I think there is some degree of adjustment, as the mounting holes are slots, indicating you can move both components in at least one aaxis

I sure would like to be able to make the ones I have work. They seem like decent quality.
