93 Excella wardrobe light

I need to replace or repair 1 of 3 wardrobe lights that is activated by opening the wardrobe door. Anybody have an extra or a replacement suggestion? Thanks

PS VTS does not have one and Inland RV is looking.

I have that same crummy light which works intermittent at best. The trouble seems to be the light socket itself which doesn't hold the bulb correctly.
I was thinking about soldering some wires to the light socket contacts and running a long strip of LED's down both sides of the doorway or use a couple of LED puck lights.

What do you think?

I did just that, the leds are much better.
My original light fixtures are going strong.... I used an aerosol spray called Caig DeOxit on the brass contacts, you could use Brasso to do the same thing.

I bought some replacement LED bulb for the 561 festoon bulbs. Brighter and whiter light. That was a big improvement.

similar to these:

ps: Mine was working intermittently also. When I was replacing the bulbs I realized the bulb contacts had spread apart enough that the bulb was loose. I bent them a little tighter and they work great ever since then.

In my case the problem is not the light socket but the actual button/ plunger switch which is not completing the circuit. But I agree the whole fixture is crummy.

If I could find a better switch that turns on when the wardrobe door is opened I would substitute some kind of good LED.

Thumbs up Wardrobe light found

I just found the light that started this thread. Found it at Southwest Exchange in Yuma, Arizona. They even had three more on the shelf! These have been hard to find in stock anywhere, but are exact replacement for the original. I have a 2000 Excella. I use this with an LED replacement bulb.
