2021 23' FC FB Queen to Twin

Hello Airstream Community,
We own a 23’ 2021 Flying Cloud FB and are considering having it reconfigured from a queen bed to two-twins.
Based on similar considerations or firsthand experiences –
1. Is it better (financially and quality-wise) to use Mothership (factory in Jackson) for the work?
2. Is it better (financially and quality-wise) to use a recommended Airstream remodeler? If so, please share recommendation
3. Is it better (financially and quality-wise to sell the current unit and purchase a new one with the two-twin configuration.
We live in northwest Arkansas so it’s close to 800 miles one-way to Jackson Center.

Hello from a fellow Razorback! We bought our 2012 Flying Cloud FBQ last year. We wanted twin beds but this came along and it was too good to pass up. We used it 3 times with the queen bed and it was OK but not the greatest for us. So, I decided to try and convert it to twin beds. I am a "talented amateur" at most things so I gave it a shot. I removed to queen bed frame, very easy to do, it just screws together/apart. I reused as much of the parts as possible. I built the bed bases, topped with 1/2" plywood. Bought two Twin XL memory foam mattresses from Amazon and trimmed the curved part to fit. If you decide to tackle the job it's not hard to do.

Hello ToothDoctor,

Thank you for this post. I too am looking to convert my 2019 to twin beds.
A couple of questions:

1 - Did you have to buy any additional of the pre finished outer bed part?

2 - How much did it in total cost you?

Thanks.
