Hi Bcanini, welcome.
Part of my decision to buy an Airstream was to be part of the Airstream culture
.
This forum is great, I'm a tinkerer, and there are many other tinkerers here to give advice.
Yes after the world settles down a get together would be nice.
Since this post cam back up... current state...
The old screw holes were pretty wobbled out, I took a dremel to clean them up before tape and putty, holes on top of pic.
Taped around the holes so when I sand the putty flat I (hopefully) wont damage the surrounding finish, holes on bottom of pic.
I probably purchased 8 different colored puttys, actually tried most of them in one test hole before settling on Plastic-Wood Walnut.
I found the lighter shades of putty actually drew my attention to the repair more than the darker shades.
I tend to get multiple projects going at the same time, so I'll try to remember to post finish pics when I actually finish
.
Happy Travels!
