1971 Caravanner

Why is there no 1971 Caravanner listed? We have a 25ft 1971 International Caravanner and see every other year listed here but not the 1971. Just curious if this is something rare or just forgotten.

Don't know the answer to your question but congratulations on owning the seldom seen Caravanner! These trailers are rare and somewhat mysterious, many Airstreamers have never seen one

1970 caravanner

We have a 1970 which needs floor and frame repair. We were going to sell it and get something in better shape. Is this unit uncommon enough I should spend the time and money on it? All original in and out, missing one hub cap.
I did buy it with the intentions of a labor of love.

Howdy and welcome to Airfums.com!

If your trailer is in reasonably good shape, you can do the work it needs one thing at a time. While your unit isn't super rare, it is a popular size.

If you really want to know what's what with its condition, fill out the Checklist completely. You can find it here.

By doing that you will have a complete image of the condition, and be able to discuss it here.

Good luck!

1970 Caravanner 25

We take delivery of our first Airstream tomorrow. A beautifully restored 1970 Caravanner 25. We were very close to purchasing a new Airstream, but this is so much better in so many ways! I'm glad to see others with early 1970's Caravanners on this thread. Does anyone happen to have an owner's manual for the 1970? I have one for 1969 models if anyone is interested. I'll post pics soon.

How exciting! So glad to here there are more caravanners out there! We have a 1971 caravanner we restored. I agree that these old airstreams are amazing when redone! We have the manual that seems fairly generic and includes a few other models.

The 1969 manual I have is likewise generic. I understand changes were made in 1970 and that further changes were made in 1974 or so, which is why I'm hoping to find a 1970 manual. A 1971, 72 or 73 would work as well. Is yours any of these years?

1971 Manual

We have the original Owners Manual for our 1971 Airstream. We wouldn't be intrested in selling the manual, but could scan some info if there is anything in particular you need info on. I will try to include a pic here of the index and a page or two.

Would you be willing to scan the entire manual and send it electronically? I'm happy to pay any cost involved. If so, please PM me. Thanks!

1970 Owners Manual/1972 Service Manual bound combo

I noticed a private listing on ebay had a combined and bound, fairly generic Airstream Owners manual for 1970 and the first comprehensive Airstream Service manual of 1972. Seems like a pretty good combo.
1972 1970 Airstream Factory Service Manual Combo | eBay
Don't know the seller but the info indicates the seller is from Victoria, BC,
Canada. You probably got the publication you wanted but if not my 1970 Caravanner has an original Owners manual I would photocopy if you wish. It really isn't very useful for any major undertaking, more like your typical vehicle owners manual.

Fishbowl:

I purchased this already and it is quite good. Thanks for the offer to scan your owner's manual, but I have one of those also. Good to have both!
