Water heater

Our water heater is coming on getting the water warm & shutting off, We are at the Can Opener in Destin it is windy here. Could that be a problem? We recently had a power surge that fried our converter. Could that be the problem? We would love to take a shower!

Is it a DSI water heater or just a gas pilot light? (In the 2010 I'd assume DSI but you don't say which trailer you're in.) My gas-pilot water heater is cranky about windy conditions... when the main burner it on it's fine, but wind will blow out the pilot. Oddly, if I leave the whole access door open, it seems to tolerate windy conditions pretty well.

More Information Would Be Helpful

Are you having trouble with the electric or propane heating or both?
When you say a power surge fried your converter, what do you mean? Normally, the converter has nothing to do with the H2O heater.
If it's just the wind keeping the propane from igniting, create a wind shield with the materials at hand.
Good luck. You deserve a shower!

Some nice folks here at the Canopener Rally. Helped us out. We had a valve open that was letting cold water mix with hot. Problem solved. Thanks!
