Hi

One other point not yet mentioned: It's not really a generator, it's a turbine driven alternator. In order to get 120VAC ( = generator juice ) you would need an inverter as well as this gizmo. An 8KW inverter is likely to weight at least as much at this gizmo.

I'm not 100% sure I would want to try to charge batteries off of whatever it puts out. Managing the voltage might get a bit "interesting". Turbines can stall out at low speed ( unless they are on the wing of a moving aircraft and the air flow keeps them spinning).

While you might want to point it this way or that for the sound directionality stuff, that might put the exhaust heat right into that pile of brush over there. Lots of things to optimize for all at one time .

Fun

20lb generator toy

The bideo mentions 8KW at 50 volts. That is 3300 watts at 120volts. No mention of AC or DC output. If DC you will need an invertor or just use it to charge batteries
Basically a very loud battery charger

I'd wonder when the craft was landing and how many air miles I earned.

And your tow vehicle should be....

As long as you're using a turbine generator.

here is what I got from the builder. At 27K I think I will pass

The ARC is in production and available to all consumers in the world. It can be purchased directly from FusionFlight.

The price for one ARC unit is 27k USD. For quantity order there will be additional savings. The current lead time is 4-months. I would need 50% upfront to begin work. The remainder is due prior to shipping. Shipping is included in the price anywhere in the world, to all countries serviceable by DHL.

Maintenance interval is 25hrs if you run it at full power and involves removing both turbine and gearbox, cleaning, and re-alignment. Maintenance will be performed at FusionFlight facility - 550USD per service. There is a 1-year warranty on engine repair.

Ouch! That maintenance requirement is a deal breaker. Looks like I'll get a Honda EU7000iS and a used dually instead.
