or, as I did, do nothing. Yes, the cover will be open about 20 degrees. But if the EMS is hanging down, I doubt much water will find it's way to the plug, if any.

On our current trip to Alaska my PT-50X got waterlogged and died. I did cut the rings off my Mighty Cord so it’s possible that I had one of the units that had a loose locknut on top. But the tech support guy said that partially open covers are a cause for that as well. In any case they replaced it and I used my PT-30X in the interim (very glad I brought both).
