Univolt outlet - where does it go?

I just had the Univolt on my 20' Argosy motorhome replaced with a solid state device. As with the Univolt there is a wire from the unit that is plugged into the outlet directly behind where the Univolt was. The Univolt had a similar wire. There is another plug into the other portion of the outlet with wires covered by a plastic sheath that head towards the engine. I've only had this Argosy for a few months and bought it from a gentleman who had no idea what the systems did or how they were hooked up. Does anyone know where this wire goes? Is this the connection to the RV battery located in the engine compartment?
