Univolt buzzing . Can I override since don't need battery?

I'm just starting on reno of 76 sovereign.Can live without battery power but do I need a battery for transit to location or just system integrity once its located ? Thanks Pete

You need a battery to operate the brakes via the break away switch while traveling. Otherwise one is not really needed to sit in one place. Even the old buzz box Univolt, if operating still, will do that.

With the univolt disconnected your battery will not last very long while using the 12 volt lights in the trailer.

The buzzing may be the plates in the transformer are starting to delaminate

You want to replace the univolt with a more modern charging system.
