Tail Light Wiring

We just bought a 1970 Safari and I'm trying to get all the lights working properly. I have both left and right turn signals but only the right side tail light. Also, only the right side lights with the brake applied.

Is there a wire that runs from the right side to the left for tail light and brake control? How do I get at the wiring?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had simular problems first time I plugged ours in. Turned out to be some dirt and corrosion in the plug on the trailer side. little scraping the corrosion loose with a flat blade screw driver and it cured the problem.

Look for an inspection plate cover on the bellypan curbside near the front. If it's the same as my '67 the wiring is junctioned from the tongue 7 way connector to the individual wiring which runs down the inside of the curbside framerail. The taillight wire also powers the running lights .
If 'Toaster's trick doesn't work , post again and I may be able to walk you through the rear end ,assuming the wiring is the same as mine.

I posted earlyer but to no avail. I need to replace the rear lights on my 69 overlander but I can't figure out how to get to them. The sockets and housings are rusted and no longer work.

I also had to replace the tail/stop/backup lights on my 69 caravel. Had to remove entire light by drilling out the rivits. It seems that they had be replaced by po. Purchased new from inland rv. Had to drill and pop riv back. Took some time but works fine.
