Red face Tail light 2005 International CCD

I am having trouble removing the lense from the taillight. I have taken the crome cover off and have removed the light fixture to where I can get at it but I can't take the red lense cover from the light so I can replace the bulb. I don't see any screws and I can't pry it apart with a knife or screwdriver.

HI there, I am pretty sure that you may have a sealed unit. Is it the Oval style ? You will have to replace the entire unit lens, bulb, and all. Is there a pig tail that unplugs from the back of the unit? One thing I don't know is how it is mounted in your trailer. On our trucks at work, they have a rubber gasket to hold them in. Let me know what happens !

Chris

Are you sure there's really any bulb in there? CCDs generally have LED tailights, which sometimes have a bad bar or two for no apparent reason. We've even had them mysteriously start working again, after going dark for a month or two.

These are sealed LED taillights, same as I had on my 2003 International 22. You should still be under warrenty.

I had water in one of mine and it was replaced under warrenty. The dealer had trouble crimping the new unit in because the wires coming out of the trailer body were so short.

That's the interesting part. We had one whole unit replaced at Jackson Center, only to have one line of bars in it go out after a few months. Now it's working again. Since it's only one line, and not easily reproduced in front of a service person, I'll probably just ignore it for now.

Yes, it's LED. I have taken the light loose and it's connected now by the wires. Will I need to replace the light unit?
