Very very informative. I've been looking at the Magnum 3000W hybrid inverter as a replacement for my WFCO 1000W inverter. I've two Experion360 lithiums totaling 240Ah and will, someday, get another one or two for the same reasons discussed in this thread. e.g. AC in midday in Arizona summer while parked for lunch on the road. I'd appreciate comments comparing the Magnum hybrid inverter to the Victron 3000Watts MultiPlus inverter. Price would probably be once big point.

Hello and thanks for the kind words.
Both the Victron and Magnum are great inverters. I’ve been primarily using the Victron MultiPlus because it ties in well with the other Victron components. I have both and they both work flawlessly. I guess it just depends on which path you go down.
The Victron can be had for around $300 less than the Magnum
Thanks
Ronnie

The MPPT controller has a service mode setting.

Nice project, LiFePO4 are the best!

We will finish this project today. Adding the panels to the roof and wiring them into. The system.

Only thing that will be left will be the Maxim Skylight, an Awning light, and add a propane quick disconnect for a generator/grill.

The cut-off switch is generally located a convenient place so that it you can turn off the incoming pv voltage before disconnecting the battery. Remember to always cut-off PV power before disconnecting the batteries or you may blow out the solar charge controller.

The MPPT solar controller has a service mode that turns off power to the batteries. You don't need a switch.

But you do need a fuse/breaker between the batteries and controller.

What amp rated fuse should you put between the controller and battery? How many amps above the controllers output? I just had a Victron SmartSolar 100/20 installed

Hi

With the Multi Plus, you can run in both charge (off the shore power) and discharge (running the inverter ) modes. The power draw in inverter mode will be way above that in charge mode ( = that is what sets the fuse size and wire gauge).

With just a solar charger, the fuses and wire need to handle the max output of the changer. Most manufacturers will mention the appropriate fuse in their install information. In their manual Victron suggests a 25A fuse for the 100/20.

Rule of thumb is 125% of the rated output.
Example.... 100/30m= 40A fuse 100/50 =60Afuse.
