Sources for 12V Lighting Designs

After seeing the lighting in a CCD - they have all polished nickle plating lighting accessories - and I would like to actually retrofit mine to have them as well. I just really ... really hate the white plastic as it totally makes everything seem so ... well you get the point... Camping world has a selection of them around 30-50$ depending on what you get.... but they do not have any of the airplane style ones that the CCD or even early 60-70's had in theirs. Anyone with some solutions, suggestions, on either - DIY or web sites that offer products along this line?

IKEA for one has 12 volt track lights, including some that are suspended off wires, and some that are under-cabinet mount.

...Here's a link.

IKEA will we considerably less expensive than an RV store, I promise.

Any 12v halogen lamp that normally runs off a transformer can be used in your trailer.

Airstream Fixtures

I felt the same way about the plastic fixtures so I ordered 6 of the nickel plated reading lights and one of the flush-mount down lights from my dealer. . . all CCD or AS components. I used them to replace the plastic fixtures on the bottom of the cabinets above the sofa, the dinette, and the bed. The single flush-mount I used above the sink in the galley, again replacing the white plastic units. I kept the plastic units on the ceiling since they are barely visible and rarely used, and I kept the ones mounted inside the various cabinets and in the john. The reading light fixtures are a bit spendy, but they really look right, since they match the nickel finish of the cabinet hardware in our Safari LS.

I'm still looking for something better to replace the plastic one above the sink next to the toilet.

If you want the real thing, here's the 2003 International Parts Manual. Look 'em up and talk to your dealer.
