Should I have 12V to components inside when hooked to the TV?

Posting for a friend (sidenote: Dear "friend", sign up so you can ask your own questions )

Should my lights, fans, etc, that are powered by 12V work when connected to the TV by umbilical cord without any batteries in the trailer? They do not currently. There's a blue wire that I understand is supposed to charge the battery and I get power at the trailer entrance but not at the fuse block inside the trailer.

Thanks in advance.

The lights should work'

The 12 volt line runs from the TV to the 12 volt distribution panel. It is at the end of one of the 12 volt lines that feeds some of the interior. If it is not working there are several things that could be wrong. The fuse for that circuit could be bad or the TV may not have the fuse installed that feeds the power to the trailer. Not all TV come with that fuse installed.

Also keep in mind that some vehicles cut power to that circuit when the ignition is off.
