shore line junction box

Working on total remodel. PO took nearly everything out and now I am playing puzzle putting her back together. Where the shore line comes in from the back bumper, it appears there was a standard household 4x4 junction box used to house the connection of shore line cord to a short piece of romex that goes in the breaker box ( attached to 30amp ?Main?breaker). I was expecting to find the shore line cord running all the way to the panel. Does this set up sound like right?

Same way as in my 1986. I did move the box from the end cap to a service area which allowed me to eliminate the Romex.

Are you saying you moved the junction box or you moved the breaker box. I assume you moved the break box from the formed end cap shelf, down near where the shoreline power comes in from the bumper?

Apparently that's the standard connection. I had to replace my main 30a power line recently and was the same connection.
