Santa Cruz fire victims bought 1983 Excella but need advice. ..

Dear Folks:

This is my first post so I hope I have done it correctly. My husband and I just bought the above Airstream as a temporary home following the loss of our home in the Santa Cruz wildfire of May 2008. We love the trailer but it does not have a manual. The circuit breaker has tripped and turned off half of the lights and we cannot seem to locate the breaker. I will order a manual but until then we could use some direction on how to locate it as we are 1/2 out of lights. (smile). We also need plumbing schematics. Thanks in advance...

If there is a way to download a copy of the manual this would speed up our progress.

Have a great day!

- MJ

what model do you have? single or double bed? look for a small panel in the rear storage areas to start if you wish. others will have more info.

I really can't help much with the breaker location, I would like to welcome you to the Forum, someone will come up with the needed information.

I live in New Orleans and have seen thousands of flooded homes many of which can be rebuilt, the only thing I can think of which is worse is fire, I wish you the best in your rebuilding and hope you have been able to maintain a positive attitude during your ordeal.

I believe WBCCI sells reprinted manuals. Here is a link to their site, you may want to give them a call in the morning. A call to Airstream will get you to the right person also.

You can get the books from the Airstream store: https://store.airstream.com/index.php?cPath=32

It might be fuse on the 12 volt distribution panel. I have no idea where that would be located in your trailer. Good luck

I spent a few months with the Haynes family in Santa Cruz in 72. Nice place. As a retired Fire Fighter I know what you're going through. Keep us up to date and keep your head up.
Soneone with a Excella will help, so keep checking

Fuse panel

I have an 84 Excella 31 foot.
My fuse panel for the 12 volt system is located in the very front of the trailer, in the center below the the front window and about 14 inches off the floor.
My trailer has the counter streaching across the front of the trailer with the couch on the street side wall and the fold out dinner table hinged from the front counter.
Raise the table or slide it to the left extremely and in the opening under the table you should find it, if you have the front counter.

Mine has the 12volt fuse panel behind the gaucho in the front. The regular 120volt panel is in the rear bath in the back of the cabinet to the forward side of the toilet. If you have a center bath model I am not sure where the panel is. Get the service manual from the Airstream Store it is well worth the money! Owner's manual wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Good luck and let us know how you make out!

Aaron

Welcome to the forums! An owner's and service manual are a must to have.

I have a 1980 Excella with center bath. The breaker box is in the big closet (across from the bathroom), back wall on the left. The fuse box is behind the goucho at the very front of the trailer. The converter and battery are also located at the front. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the loss of your home. Keep us up to date.
