Red Light?

Anyone know what the light on this junction box does? It actually protrudes to the outside of the AS.
It's on my 77 AS International 31'.

It's the old "Reverse Polarity Light". It would be best to remove it.
It is wired between the neutral and ground plain to indicate that the shore power is not wired correctly.
