Rebuilding my Airstream Electrical System

Can anyone steer me to a detailed, current (no pun intended), book or website on RV electrical systems. I have a fair amount of residential (120V-240V) electrical experience, and I've owned RV's for a number of years, so I have fair 12V knowledge, but I'm looking to take it all up a notch or two.

I'm rebuilding or 1992 Excella and I'm getting ready to put the shell back on and begin wiring, etc. Without going into lengthy detail, the plan is to keep it at a 30A 120V / 12V system, with roof top solar and LiFePO4 batteries including a BMS, etc.

I'd sure appreciate some help finding some good instructional and reference material.

The best place to start is "The 12 Volt Side of Life", Parts 1 and 2, by Mark Nemeth.

I’m interested to see what you find. I’m about to wire up my 33 footer from a blank slate.

I have a book on rv electrical from a boondocking perspective but it seems woefully dated. Most of the info I find feels like building your own gaming pc whereas I just want to buy a Mac and plug it in and not have to trouble shoot all the time.

Maybe user Lewster could recommend a resource? I have been taking info he posts as gospel

Truckasaurus I saw a post a few weeks ago that Lew was not well and his son is now running the business. The son is planning on staying in FL full time except for one more trip to OR to shut down the business there this summer. Haven't noticed a post in a while.

Pete,
I'm down near Raleigh, NC and have years of electrical experience and have access to a number of good DC products. Drop me a line and we can talk.
Thx,
Dick

You might try looking for books on boat maintenance. There's a number of good books out there aimed at pleasure boats that cover 12v systems. There are some differences between boats and RV's, mostly to do with the standards (RVIA vs. ABYC) but that should give you a place to start.
