Reaching out!

When I took my 2016 Airstream Classic out of storage this year, I swapped out the Atkinson solar controller with a Victron 100-30 solar controller. I also added a third solar panel to the factory installed solar system. Everything works great except now the 3 LED lights over the sofa and the two LEDs in the storage cabinet above sofa the don't work. I checked all the fuses, they're all fine. I cut loose one of the cabinet lights and hooked it to a 12 volt battery. The light works. I used a non-contact voltage sensor and it shows voltage present. I traced all the wires and tightened all the connections, cleaned and checked the ground on the outside of the trailer with no results. Everything else works. Do anyone have any ideas?
I'll be forever grateful for any input.

Do you have a regular voltmeter? I would want to check for the correct voltage at the wires where you cut them.

Then if that looks good use a different 12 volt light (like a simple test light you can get at an auto parts store) to see if there is enough current there to light a light.

And are there other lights on the same switch that still work? If all lights on a switch are not working, you can pull out the switch and check the power there. If some lights work fine, you know the power is getting to the switch.

Electrical issues

I surrender. There is no power to the lights. I checked with my multi meter. I am going to meet an rv tech at Chatfield State Park on the 20th. I hope he can figure it out. He was recommended by Timeless Trailers. I really do appreciate you suggestions.

rstull12, sorry to hear about your electrical issue. I just did the same Victron upgrade (minus the extra solar panel).

Are any of the interior lights working? It sounds like the power source got disrupted during the previous work. You mentioned checking the fuse - did you mean at the DC fuse panel?

I just checked ours and there is one fuse for the lights - the first one. If you have power on both sides of the fuse, that means the interruption is beyond the fuse panel.

Is it possible you disrupted something inside the DC power box where the original Atkinson solar controller was located? There is a wiring diagram on the inside of our panel cover but it’s hard to read.

Hopefully the tech at Chatfield can help. We visited Chatfield last summer and really liked it. We were across the road from the RC flying field. You’re so lucky to have such great state parks in CO. We’re coming back in July this year.

Good luck resolving your issue; don’t give up!

Reaching out!

Yes all of the other lights in the trailer work. I checked and replaced all of the fuses in the dc side. I just posted a new query about the junction box. I used a electrical probe to see if there was power in the junction box after tracing the wires back to it. To my dismay none of the lugs had power. Believe me I am not a electrician, but I can usually figure things. This has me stumped. Appreciate any thoughts. I'm glad you liked Chatfield. we like it there to.

Robert thanks so much

By the way none of my fuses are marked. It's just guessing which one goes were.

My owners manual has a diagram of the fuse panel, telling what each is for.

Yours may have the same.

FWIW, may be helpful at some point.

I noticed you’ve started three different threads on this, which may make responses confusing.

Might pm one of the mods and ask them to consolidate these into one thread.
