prep for my solar future: Inverter charger/inverter-converter combo

Mornin' yall. I want to have the ability to add solar in the near future, but will also be plugged into shore power especially in Texas summers. The future goal is go full solar (other than summers), at least until Elon Musk helps me run my a/c off solar with super a super efficient tesla battery bank

My converter went out and the repair shop is suggesting a 1k watt converter/inverter combo. However, from my researching on the forums and otherwise I see a big push to get the pure sine wave inverter chargers.

My first question, which may be a stupid one, is there a difference between an inverter charger and an inverter/converter combo?

My second is: what do you recommend for both solar and shore powered summers? I want adjustable charge voltage, temperature sensor probe (I will have 2 batteries on the tongue and 1 under the couch which means variable temps), and the ability to reset based on the type of batteries I choose. I also want the remote control panels and battery monitor. I've done a lot of research but am not at all electrical experienced or knowledgeable about options. Advice/direction on brand/type/wattage.

Help a girl out?

1. An inverter charger and inverter/converter combo are the same thing.

2. Contact AM Solar and talk to them about your requirements. It sounds like you have a very good idea on what you're looking for... temperature compensation, ability to change battery types, need for a battery monitor, remote control, etc. They will give you broad range of options to suit your budget.
