Welcome to the forums. If I read your post correctly, you have an eyelet around the hole where the shore power cord goes through. If that is the case, you will probably have to remove it to get the old cord out. Just remember to put it, or another one like it, back in the hole so the wire won't chafe.

Electrical restraint

Sounds like something the previous owner installed to prevent the wire from being pulled out. If you know him talk to him. Otherwise, determine why it is there and whether it is critical to the function. Buy a new power cord from and RV shop around you and talk to the people there on how to install it. You do not want to do something that is unsafe when you are dealing with 30 amp electricity.

thanks for the reply, Iwould ask the previous owner but he has pased away, I bought a new cable, what I'm going to do is cut the old cable close to the hole to the trailer floor and push it threw the lead should just fall down if its not for something else. I'll let you know how it goes later. thanks kh
