Order of components, switches and fuses...
I have a question about my newly upgraded system.
I just added 400W of solar to the roof and I am wondering what the right settings are for storage between uses.
The flow of devices and switches/breakers for the solar is:
~ 400W rooftop solar in series/parallel
~ Factory 8AWG from rooftop to a 65amp 2 pole circuit breaker (rooftop solar on/off that interrupts both the positive and negative wires)
~ 8AWG from circuit breaker to Victron 150/60 MPPT
~ 8AWG from MPPT to Victron Energy Lynx Distributer
~ 40 amp fuse for the solar in the Lynx
~ Main system off on positive out of the Lynx
~ Victron Smart Shunt on negative out of the Lynx
~ Connection to batteries
Can I use the main system on/off switch and allow the solar power to continue to flow through the breaker/MPPT/Lynx?
I would like to be able to switch off all power to the system but don't want to hurt the MPPT by having the solar power flow into the unit when it can't get to the battery.
What is the best state of charge to leave the SOK batteries while in storage?
right now I am using the breaker to turn off the solar AND the main switch to turn all connections to the battery.
Thank you!
Mitch
