Wet cell, Gel and Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries are different in their make up. You may wish to study more about these three battery types online by once again going to Google.com and type in a search for all three. You'll find a wealth of information there. Good luck.

Grooming tips
I've been very happy using the Right Guard Gel.
Keeps me cool and dry.
Don't know about the AGM stuff, will check the men's grooming isle for it next time.

Talk about hijacking a thread!!!! SHEEESH!!
Anyway, gels are VERY tempermental in their charge voltages and the slightest bit of over voltage will cause the gel to strip from the plates...leaving a scar that doesn't heal and a marked decrease in capacity.
Go with a quality AGM like Lifeline. Built to mil spec and bomb-proof (and bomber proof as well, since they are found in all of our military aircraft)

A number of solar panel websites as well as three RV books have not recommended the gel cell batteries. Flooded and AGM were the recommendations. Gel cells are easily fried unless you are not careful and AGM batteries must be charged differently than flooded/wet cell batteries.
