Hey everyone, we love our new to us airstream, however there is one little thing absolutely driving my husband crazy!!! He can usually fix anything, very handy, but there is an extra blue wire coming into the trailer on the front wall, I am attaching a picture, we have looked at wiring diagrams in the owners manual and on the forums, we don't see this listed anywhere. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
That looks like the front plug that goes to the vehicle pigtail?
On my 1975 the blue wire is the main charge line that goes back to the fuse block/distribution panel. However you have two blue wires in the picture. FWIW mine is attached to the center pin. From the looks of it someone has done some creative wiring there.

Why are we in this basket...and where are we going
Yep, that is what we think too, creative wiring. The big blue wire does go to the charge line, and I am pretty sure hubby knows where everything else goes except the small blue wire. Things that make you go HUM???
On my trailer, I ended up mapping all the front wires by function. The previous owners had messed with the 7-way bad. They removed all the fuses and disconnected the breakaway switch.
This the repair I made. The heavy blue wire goes to the battery. My repair manual says it should be fused at the 7-way location.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.
