Monitoring batteries in a new Flying Cloud

I'm trying to verify something that seems foriegn to dealer personel. Have a 2024 Flying Cloud with factory solar. Looking through the system I see a shunt installed in compartment with other components but no wire going into a monitor. Went out with my Victron Connect app. and I'm seeing a Victron Smart Shunt pairing. Nobody has said a word to me about it being there. They tell me I can montitor battery condition through the MPPT montitor which is incorrect. Just trying get verification that Victron Smart shunt is supplied and that someone knows about it.

Also, the max voltage reading I'm seeing with MPPT monitor on float is 13.6 volts. This has me wondering if Victron controller is NOT set to lithium. Anybody with similar experiences?

Did you try connecting to the shunt? The default password is six zeros (something like that). It's probably a new beast to the dealer, the old battery monitor was the voltage meter dial as you indicated. The shunt is far superior, but it doesn't have its own monitor, just your phone. You'll have to make sure it's set for lithium, under batteries. There are a bunch of parameters to set, I think the BB website has a FAQ for this.

The voltage seems right for fully charged lithium batteries. Assuming you're in the sun, if the MPPT is putting out close to zero watts, then likely they are charged. There is a menu system you can check for the charging profile, but it might take some effort. If you can get to the solar controller there is a dial and it should be set to "7" (I'm assuming it's the standard issue Blue Solar 150|35). I'd replace the Blue Solar with a Smart Solar and then you can monitor charging from your phone as well. It's easy then sell the Blue on eBay. Or you can get a dongle for it ($50), but then you lose the MPPT monitor.

I did and was connected. Thats how I figured out what I had. Airstream did get back to me and confirm that (very promptly). I was just disheartened nobody kbew about it on my walk through. As people get more educated on solar, lithium, etc., these are features they want to know about. Just wish solar controller was ble tooth as well.

You will read about many others that have had poor dealer walkthrough experiences. Our dealer knew nothing about the Alde. Fortunately, there is a wealth of information on this forum.

Read all the manuals, watch Youtube videos, and read this forum.

Yes, they seem to put the same Blue solar controller on every model. They must get a great deal on them in bulk. It's not a whole lot more money for a Smart version and the 150|35 is a lot more than what's required for the solar package.

I actually have a Smart Solar 100/30 from our old camper I may put in. Not putting any more panels on roof since I carry a 200 watt suitcase panel if I need extra.
