Haven’t completed the job yet. The microwave above is indeed the right model and I purchased it.
However, it is too large to fit in the current opening. Enlarging in shouldn’t be too complicated if you’re a bit handy but the issue is the trim wood piece right above it. It would need to be narrowed by about 2 inches. That in and of itself shouldn’t be too much of a problem either. Cutting is easy. But, you’d then have to reapply the rubber edge all around it. Not sure I’d be able to find the right material to match. Also, I’m not sure how that trim is attached, screwed or glued. Latter would be more of a problem as removing it would damage the panel.
So, I parked the project for the summer as it was too big of a job and we camp a lot. No time to do it. My AS is in storage right now for the winter with no access to it.
My plan is to order from AS the front cabinet panel and trim to modify them at home during the winter and replace it come summer. Assuming of course cabinet panels are not glued or stapled and screwed, which is what I gather from looking around and doing some other work in my trailer.
This is only where I’m at I’m afraid!
