Low pitch audible hum when connected to shore power 2020 Atlas
Howdy all, wondering if anyone has encountered or knows what would cause a low rhythmic hum in my 2020 Atlas when connected to shore power. It is noticeable at night and the small touchpads flicker from dark to light in concert with the noise. The hum often, but not always, stops when the heater or refrigerator cycle. Thanks,
Tim
I don't know the details of the Atlas but I am going to assume the touchpads and other controls are all 12V gear. That being the case, I would suspect the charger/converter has a bit of an issue with its bridge rectifier subcomponent and imparting a frequency contribution into the DC system. You can verify this with a multimeter. Set it to AC volts and read the AC voltage on the DC system with shore power connected. it should be zero or very close to zero. 50 or 100 or more millivolts could explain the hum and flickering.
