Is there a wiring diagram to review prior to installing lithium batteries, and solar

I’ve searched high and low looking for a wiring diagram to review prior to installing Battle Born lithium batteries, victron solar charge controller, new converter and shunt.
I want to be sure I have all that is needed before I begin this adventure.

2020 GT FBQ
2 100ah BB
2 additional 90w panels to roof
Victron mppt
Blue sea disconnect for solar panels
Lithium profile converter (swap)

Check out AM Solar’s Diagram Archive

A great place to start is AM Solar’s Wiring Diagram Archive

You may have to search through as it’s posted to Google Docs and the titles are a little cryptic but see the example below.

Also, try using the AIRForums Search function on the top of the page. There’s a huge number of posts about this topic.

Good luck with your project.

Looks good.
Only concerned part is I’m not sure if I want to do the DC-DC charger as I’m driving a F150 hybrid and haven’t gotten any information how that would interact with the trucks hybrid systems.

Will sift through that “pile of information” next.

Have looked at dozen’s of posts on the forum on this topic many get way too technical for my experience to the point of abandonment

I did mine based on work by Nate Yarbrough and Tom Morton. I just studied some of their plans and created my own based on my needs. Both have good information. Knowledge if Power.

Looks pretty good.
I would put a manual breaker between the solar and the charge controller. Should you need to disconnect the battery, you will want to disconnect the solar first to prevent possible damage to the controller.
I would also install either the Victron 712 monitor or the Victron SmartShunt. With a lithium battery, you can be at 25% capacity and still read 13v. Last thing you want to do is wake up some morning in the dark. The Victron monitors allow you to see the state of charge at anytime with your smartphone. The 712 has more bluetooth range. Many folks think that the charge controller provides that info. The charge controller only tells what the chare controller is doing. You need a shunt based monitor to know what is going on with the battery.

I plan to add the blue sea disconnect between solar panels and controller.
I have a Victron smart shunt as well.

Best practice would be to use a circuit breaker that will disconnect both positive and negative wires (2 pole).
Some electrical codes will require both wires to be disconnected.

I found this diagram helpful.
I added a blue sea switch after the Lynx power distribution and before the battery.

From the Lynx you have the batteries, and inverter and what else running from there?

Suggest you look at Goldenchase's renovation. He also has the F150 Hybrid and has wired it to charge from the bed.

I can plug in to my bed with 7.2kw I can run 30a trailer and would do so to recharge or run A/C in a pinch but with gas so expensive I would not want to do it too often

There are four things running through the Lynx...
Solar MPPT
DC/DC charger (Victron 12/30)
Inverter (OEM 1000W)
Converter (OEM)

Each has their own fuse rated for the load.
DC/DC also has an in-line breaker that serves as an on/off switch.

If you run an 30 amp umbilical between the trailer and your F-150 PowerBoost with the 7.2kw Propower Onboard option you will not need a DC-DC converter. The truck will supply all the power you need to the Victron and top off the batteries while you are driving.

I fully documented my lithium/Victron conversion and the interface to my F-150 PowerBoost in this thread.

I have a 2021 F150 with the 2k pro power. I added an additional 45amp Progressive Dynamics converter up front to charge while towing. I used a 12awg extension cord to power the converter and plug into the pro power. It works great!!!

Yes, I have read that whole thread and was just thinking about adding the exterior below bumper attachment plug. Will have to go back through the thread for specifics to see if I can figure it out and apply to my set up.
That and I want to go 12v on the fridge as well.

We were concerned about weight with the 25 FC RBQ and opted to go to a 23 GT FBQ when we stumbled upon a lightly used 2020 for a good price.
Great job on the mods by the way.

So did you abandon the OEM converter or add this as well?
So now you can run to a plug in upfront while driving and getting charged at same time.

What type of plug and where did you add it?

Thanks for your reply

That is a clever work around for those with the 2kw ProPower On Board option on the F-150. Keeps the refrigerator cold and the batteries fully topped on arrival.
