Inverter
We have an inverter on our 2014 International. When is the fan supposed to run? I don't understand, as it seems to run all the time when connected to shore power. My owners manual doesn't explain about the fan.
I appreciate your help. Thank you,
Cindy

On our trailer the inverter fan is on when the inverter is on.
When the inverter is off the fan is off.
Hope that helps.

Same here.
Do you have this switch? If so make sure light is off. If light is off make sure that the remote cable has not become dislodged and the inverter is not “inadvertently” on.
Sorry this was this best pic I had on the fly

Check the switch on the very end of the inverter itself, inside your wiring closet. Might not be set for remote, so it’s always on.

Are you confusing one fan with another? Your converter-charger has a fan that will often run when you're plugged in if it's under much load, especially if the batteries are low or you are using lots of 12V power for various things. I use my inverter to power my CPAP when boondocking, and don't ever remember it hearing a noise when using it. I must say, though, I only boondock when temperatures are pleasantly low so that may be why I haven't heard a fan from the inverter. It's hidden back in the cabinetry, but the converter-charger and its fan are installed with the fuse-and-breaker panel and exposed to the living space of the trailer, so when that fan runs I hear it.
I wouldn't expect the inverter to be doing anything at all when you're plugged in, it should only be working hard if you're running the TV or other AC device off batteries.

Are you sure it is an Inverter and not a Converter.
Converter fan will run depending on the load.
Such as charging batteries, interior lights, the numerous control boards for the refer, water heater.
This is not uncommon.
