Question Internally wired surge protector

Seeking insight on installing the internally wired Power Watchdog PWD50-EPO-H in my new 2024 Flying Cloud 30FBQ Office I pickup next weekend.

My #1 question is space, will there be space for the installation inside? I assume there is, but wanted to see if anyone might be able to speak into it.

I am a bit of a nerd about electrical along with being a bit paranoid (I think I know too much not to be ) so I would like to install it right off. We will be staying at the dealer the first night and I was thinking if it is easy enough, I could do it that evening once everyone else went home. To pull that off, I think the #1 thing I will need to know is how much extra wire I should have on hand, Does anyone have any insight?

as close to the 30/50 AMP ext outlet is best
get the remote i/f then you can see its current state and monitor for any issue/faults

I don't know about you but any electrical installation, especially a one time specialty install, takes time and thought, and often something you don't have immediately on hand be it a tool or a part. I would not attempt this in the dealer's lot, and I'm an electrician! Mine took a good long time, mainly because I installed it in a tight spot. I also ordered rubber isolation "feet" from McMaster Carr so I wouldn't have a hum which some reported. I also used a junction box and several feet of flexible conduit with individual conductors inside and strapped it to the wall, instead of using cord which is easily damaged in a compartment.
Mine was on a van and it was a Progressive Dynanics so not exactly your install but same idea.
Trying to do it in a parking lot will surely lead to shortcuts you wouldn't have to make at home.

I would not attempt this installation in the dealership lot. I had a hard enough time installing mine under the dinette seat, as I had to clean up the rat's nest first. I added some 6/3 cable, and an isolation breaker, too.

I have no idea where you would install on your FC 30, as I am not familiar with that layout. Perhaps you could start with the external version that hangs on the pedestal? I did my install as part of the MP II install.

Good luck.

While I saw great wisdom in all you said, I quoted what got my attention the most. I will take both your advice and BGClassic.

How did this turn out? Where did you install it? I'm in the same boat with a 2024 FC 27FBT, but I'm looking at the 2nd Gen WiFi version of the PWD50EPOH instead (PWD50EPOHW).

I saw another thread where someone with a 2023 FC 25RB installed the surge under the fridge (where there was enough slack in the cable from his 50A inlet he could just cut the cable and connect it to the surge).
