Note that I did try a couple auto body plastic tools first, but they were just a little too blunt to get under the ring to pop it out. I just did it carefully to minimize scratching.

Good Day,

I'm not sure if anyone is following this anymore, but any feedback is welcomed. I have a 2016 19' Flying Cloud.

I've seen where some lens covers come off, while others do not; rather you have to remove the entire fixture and replace it. I too have the cool white LEDs and hate it. My Airstream dealer/service crew say I can't change the bulbs in my recessed cool white LEDs, but others here seem to be able to. I'm thinking there is miscommunication with the dealer and what they are simply saying is; can't change the bulb. Yet, that doesn't mean can't remove the lens cover to put the gel in. Correct?

I did find, in case anyone is searching, the High Sky RV Parts site. They have the 2016 Parts catalog (550 pages) available at:

https://highskyrvparts.com/downloads...Parts-Book.pdf

In the catalog, the recessed lights part number is; 512936 Spotlight w/frosted lens, LED. I looked that up and that part appears on Out the Door Mart:

http://odmrv.com/catalog/index.php?m...oducts_id=1682

Their site notes single fixture for LED recessed lights and is a replacement for the Airstream Ceiling Spotlight Warm LED. Thus, go back to HighSky and wa-lah, found the warm version of these lights;

https://highskyrvparts.com/new-airst...ght-led-512463

My dealer wants $300/light and labor to change out; over $4800. Seriously?! I can buy the new lights for $48/light and do myself, but with you all here, if the lens cover does come off, the gel is the most cost efficient way and I can put the money into a new oven/stove.

Again, any feedback is welcomed.

As many previous posters have said, go with the gel. It was very easy to remove the lens and insert the gel. $4800 is a ridiculous price.
