Inergy Kodiak Solar Generator

Just wondering if any members are using a solar generator
like Inergy’s Kodiak to provide additional power as opposed
to a more traditional onboard solar panel system?

I think that naming it a 'generator' is a bit misleading. Isn't it just a battery and inverter? It needs charging some way. Your Airstream already has an inverter.

I don’t own one yet but am seriously considering it. What’s not to like, you get a lithium battery and an invertor for a great price. It has an Rv plug in as well. Not all airstreams have invertors, mine doesn’t. I like the idea of a stand alone system that I don’t have to wire or modify my airstream, it’s plug and play. Also in the event of a grid down power loss scenario you have the ability to have power for your home as well.

Maybe something like the Car Generator would be a better choice as an auxiliary power system as it would supply 1000 wats of power much longer (50-80 hours) than the lithium battery, and at a much lower price.

Thanks guys! Sounds intriguing because of it’s small size and weight
and fairly powerful lithium battery. As far as it being misnamed, a
generator creates electricity but must be powered by an energy source.
I have two Honda 2000’s that require gas for the gas engine. Some have propane versions.
This “Solar Gen” requires solar panels (part of a kit system) but can also be charged from
your TV as you travel with optional cord or from AC plug in.
One dealer is offering the unit with three 100 watt panels, lights and AC charger for about $1900. Also features 1500 watt inverter with surge to 3000! My stock ‘16 FC can’t do that. Plus you can hook it up at home for power outages.
Only drawback is they are currently backlogged.
