Hey there, first post for me, here goes. Had a 23 now have 2019 27 FB and I'm changing the cold cold Arctic Blue lights throughout for warm whites - have figured out R&R all lights except the two switched and swiveling reading spots over bed. Can't figure out how to get the lens cap off so i can access the Arctic Blue glow and replace with a warm white. I'm down to resorting to giant channel locks and I just know that's probably not going to go well given my past experience with crushing things I really like and or need. So... any tips on how to come away with an undamaged light and no one hurt in the process? thanks Max
Not sure if yours are the same, but if so, here are our reading lights with the bezel removed. You can see the three indentations that the bezel seats and turns into. A couple of them were a bit stiff to take off the first time. We had ours off to replace all of the halogens with LEDs!
thanks for the tips - a lot of silicone was used in assembly which made it more difficult, but got the lens off with no damage or injury. I saw a few replies that mentioned using a colored gel, which sounds way easier than the direction I'm heading. Where can I go to find that product? Thanks again for the reply - Max
This is an earlier thread on the topic along with pictures I posted of the gels and how to install. Really helped get away from that Walmart lighting look.
Photography suppliers will have the gels(heavy duty) or a craft store (light duty). We have used different colored gels in different lighting configurations for mood setting.
