Use the flat, red fuse.

Thanks all! I just ordered one of the CamperLite rubber caps, I like the idea of sealing off the connection in case of rain.

Cheers,

I was able to run a wire from an unused switch near the door (I assume it was intended for the valance lighting option) to a junction in the parking light wiring under the closet. It took about 3 minutes to run the wire and 20 minutes to get the wire cap back on (it's difficult to reach). It works great!

Hi, sorry, but I don't have one. It started with a few lines drawn on a piece of paper and other changes were done while in the process of making it work with LED tail lights. The white lights were added to give enough resistance to make the lights flash while in the flash mode. I also changed one or two switches in the process too.

Thumbs up B/U lights....

Never wired the tear-drops....

But the B/U light's have come in handy breaking camp and packing the Classic's trunk.

All of this talk about use in the campground is great but I built mine for use when (not if) I have to leave the camper on the side of the road for repair to the truck if I'm towed. Just remember - it will run the battery down of not connected a campground power source.

The simplest method is to get an automotive fuse holder with two wire leads - you can twist the wire ends and put them into the slots on the umbilical cable on the trailer. I did this for 2 years - I used a 20 amp fuse - that is what protection for that circuit in my truck for the trailer lights. The cost is about $2 at Walmart. You can use it later to build a fancy plug adaptor - just buy the umbilical connector for a car at Walmart and do the wire connection inside the plug housing.

BTW - it's also useful for running lights pre-check before hitting the road when you're alone.

I agree with Jammer, too much light in a campground is annoying.

Hi, I agree too. My first unit was made for use at Airstream Rallies. My second unit [much simpler] was made for road side emergencies. [ hope I never have to use it]

Who has the phone # or correct Web address for CamperLite ?
I placed order (Order Number: 1237) on 12/9/12 and no delivery yet (1 wk). Could it be Holiday rush or what are your product order experiences with camperLite ?. I got the order confirmation but the email address takes no reply. Thanks all.

There is a Contact Us link in the website...you can email them through that. I don't see a phone number listed anywhere. Good luck...

I almost pulled the trigger on that ad, but I sent them an e-mail and it was bounced as undeliverable, so I backed off. Keep us posted please.
Roadrunner gave me this link,,, its more expensive but the page does give a phone number. RV Glow - Turn your outside camper lights into patio lights.

I use a 15amp blade fuse to connect the fins in the seven pin plug...locate the ridge on the plug and connect 11 o'clock to 1 o'clock...it works great.

You might want to search around this site for more info - I recall that someone ordered one that looked a lot like that from somewhere on the web, and it just turned out to be an automotive fuse with a cover - they wouldn't even post pictures of it because it was so ridiculously simple and could be built for 20 cents.

Camperlite Feedback

Sorry for the delay, busy holiday. So to respond to :

Airstream Dad,
Any feedback on your order ( delivery time , communication & product quality ?

I ordered the product online using PayPal. The cap showed up about a week later via standard US post, no issues.

Attached are a couple of photos of the product. It's simple and seems well constructed. I attached it to my AS power plug, and it powered up the running lights as advertised, works well.

Here are several things I personally like about it:

- Note in the photo that the plug includes the rectangular "tab" so that when placing it on the plug, it aligns correctly immediately, no need to figure out which terminals the fuse goes in, making install/attachment quick and easy. Handy at night when dark.

- The plug is made of rubber, so no worries about having fingers near the fuse connectors/wire and a shock

- Similarly, it completely covers the entire plug, so in case of rain, it's contained

Hope this helps,

Airstream Dad
