grounds FB & converter

I am installing a new boondocker converter and fb9 fuse panel. I know the fuse panel needs to be grounded. Can it be grounded to the shell, or must it be grounded to the frame?

Also the converter itself requires grounding to the frame. Do I need a dedicated copper wire running through the floor to the frame, or can I clamp a bare copper wire to the existing copper ground wire that runs from the 110v breaker box to the frame?

If you want to wire it to code, the converter should have a dedicated #8 conductor to bond it to the frame. I can't find anything about bonding the fuse panel. I'll keep looking.

Edit: There is a cover-all provision that says any equipment exposed metal parts that may become energized shall be bonded to an accessible terminal on the frame. Again, it requires a #8 conductor. Presume this would apply to the fuse panel. I also assume you are talking about the DC fuse panel.

Thanks for your reply. Access to the frame is limited otherwose I wouldn't have hesitated to run a dedicated line. I spoke with an electrician who has told me it's ok to clamp onto the existing ground wire.

I also just received an email from Randy at Best Converter who tells me that the FB9 fuse box should be grounded to the frame as well.
